The luxe event designer will share her “buy it, rent it, borrow it, make it” method and walk brides through how to create the look they are dreaming of.

Fall is my favorite time of year. There is nothing like curling up in a warm blanket, sipping on something pumpkin flavored, and enjoying fireside tales with friends. This season I compiled a list of hauntingly perfect handmades to decorate my home and celebrate all things autumn. These sweet little Plush Pumpkins sure take the pie when it comes to festive fall DIYs. Here’s what you’ll need:

• Fall Colored Fabric
• 100% Wool Felt
• Twine
• Embroidery Thread
• Sewing Needles
• Scissors
• Cotton Stuffing

 Step 1: Cut a 5 in by 10 in piece of fabric. Fold in half so short sides meet (printed side in). Stitch along short edge with 1/4-inch seam allowance.

Step 2: With doubled thread and running stitches, sew along one end. Pull thread to cinch fabric closed. Stitch to secure.

Step 3: Turn pouch right side out and stuff with batting. With doubled thread and running stitches sew around open end. Pull thread to cinch fabric and stitch to secure.

Step 4: Thread a long needle with twine (I used striped bakers twine). Wrap twine around pumpkin creating 5 sections; pulling through core several times to add ridges.

Step 5: Cut leaf shapes out of your wool felt. To add detail embroider onto leaves with floss.

Step 6: Cut 1in strips of brown felt for stems.

Step 7: Stitch felt leaf and stem onto the top of your pumpkin.

There you have it! A perfect pumpkin project for my favorite fall season! Try mixing and matching fabrics for an adorned mantel or craft up additional sizes (Try an 8in by 16in piece of fabric for medium pumpkins and an 11in by 22in piece of fabric for large pumpkins).
